You do not need an off-road truck to visit HMA. Most cars, SUVs, and trucks can access the parking areas, but the road into the park is dirt and can be dusty.

Water

There is no public running water at the park. Please bring plenty of drinking water for yourself, your family, and your riders.

What to Bring

Bring shade, chairs, sunscreen, snacks, water, gas, and anything else you would normally want for a day outdoors.

Cost to Enter

Entry fees may vary by event. Practice days: Spectators 5 and over: $5 per person.

Park Map

Find the tracks, trails, parking areas, and riding zones. A map makes it easier to know where to go and where not to go.

Kids Area

Young riders and beginners have their own areas to learn and build confidence. Everyone starts somewhere.

Ride with a friend

Riding with a buddy is always safer. Let someone know where you're going and don't hesitate to ask for help.

Emergency Contact Info

For serious emergencies, call 911 first, then call the HMA Help Line at (808) 807-9332. Volunteers can help emergency responders reach your location.

For non-emergency assistance, call the HMA Help Line at (808) 807-9332 or look for volunteers wearing bright shirts.

Here are some the of most asked questions we get.

Bringing Kids

Lots of families come to HMA because they want a better place for their kids to ride than the street, parks, or random trails.

Kids of all skill levels ride here, from brand-new beginners to experienced racers.

Not everyone is racing, and not everyone is fast. Everyone starts somewhere, and most riders remember what it was like to be new.

Bring plenty of water, shade, snacks, and patience. Hawaii is hot, and a comfortable kid usually means a happy day.

Military Families

People are usually asking:
I just got here. Where do I start?

Many riders and families find HMA after moving to Oahu. Whether you're here for a few years or just getting settled, HMA can be a great place to meet people, spend time outdoors, and become part of the local riding community.

Many volunteers, riders, and families have been through the same experience. Don't be afraid to introduce yourself, ask questions, or simply come up and spend the day.

Visiting O'ahu

Can I just show up?
Visitors and off-island riders are welcome. If you're visiting Oahu or coming from another island, check the Events page for schedules, race information, and day-pass details.

HMA does not currently rent motorcycles or e-bikes, and we're not aware of any rental services on Oahu. Riders should plan on bringing their own bike, riding gear, and supplies.

First Bike

Relax.
Seriously.

Not everyone at HMA is racing, and not everyone is trying to be the fastest rider on the island. Many people are simply out riding with friends, spending time with family, or learning something new.

Ride at your own pace. Ask questions. Let people know you're new. Most riders are happy to help because every one of us was a beginner once.

Just Hanging Out

Just Want to Hang Out?

You don't need to be racing or riding to spend time at HMA. Families and friends are welcome to come up, watch, have lunch, and enjoy the day.

Please stay in the parking, pit, and designated spectator areas. For everyone's safety, spectators are not allowed on the tracks, trails, or course areas.

If you're unsure where you can go, ask a volunteer or event staff before wandering off. We'd rather answer questions than have someone accidentally end up where they shouldn't.
